Florida Man Vs. The Hershey Company
"Aw man, I thought it would have a face on it, it's just a chocolate blob"
Hello sweetest subs,
Today, a round up of important links and then an overview of a not very important legal case that is my current means of distraction tactic. Much love!

Text: “When the zionist entity bombed Al-Ahli Hospital in November, murdering over 500 Palestinians and eviscerating the medical facility, images of the carnage flashed across headlines globally. Al-Shifa and Al-Ahli became sites of intense debate over the cynical justifications Israel uses to legitimize its attacks on civilians and medical infrastructure. At both of those hospitals, the New York Times ran cover for the zionists, presenting dubious “evidence” exculpating the IOF as fact. Seven months into the war, zionist attacks on hospitals barely register in western media. This week, the IOF laid siege to Kamal Adwan Hospital, the last barely functioning hospital in northern Gaza, reflecting yet another attempt to destroy the basis for Palestinian life. Every hospital in Gaza has been destroyed, in what amounts to perhaps the clearest evidence of the Zionist entity’s genocidal intent.
The New York Times took days to “report” on the latest assault on Kamal Adwan—when it finally did, it was only as a footnote. Attacks on hospitals apparently don’t deserve their own articles anymore. As Eduardo Galeano reminds us: “The machine teaches us to accept horror as we accept the cold of the winter.”
The horrors are the same—perhaps even worse, given the Israeli-manufactured famine and the complete destruction of all life-sustaining infrastructure, particularly in the north. Newborns evacuated, critically wounded patients left to perish, doctors and nurses ducking as they pass windows to dodge Israeli sniper fire. The mass graves uncovered near the Indonesian Hospital, Al-Shifa, and Nasser provide a glimpse of what Israel did at these facilities: Patients with cannulas and IVs still in place, doctors blindfolded and shot at point blank range, children, men, women, and elders buried together with their wrists tied.
The machine teaches us to accept genocide as an inevitability, to treat Palestinians as disposable, to retreat into our comfortable lives and avert our eyes.
These maps depict every single hospital attacked in the Gaza Strip. Read their names and remember why we fight for a free Palestine and the fall of the zionist entity.”

It’s simple:
DON’T BLAME voters for not being uhhhh inspired by Joe or the democratic party at large which has been a complete and utter train wreck for…. a long time but…alienating your base because you’re supporting genocide and then posting a mental health is health meme? It is an absolute farce. But of course…to those MSNBC-pilled (or NYT-pilled) he remains the voice of reason simply because he is lying to us in a tone that is “reasonable” and with words that are familiar. Stockholm syndrome? I think so!

Ok in unrelated news that I am fixating on: Florida Men (gender neutral here, everyone from Florida is a Florida Man) are suing Hershey Corporation—not for any number of unlimited good reasons, like decades of unethical labor practices, poisoning consumers with lead, yummy, corporate greed, ETC.—but for possibly the funniest reason of all time: misleading packaging on Reese’s Peanut Butter cups that promised EYES and MOUTHS on the creatures inside but DID NOT DELIVER. (To be clear, whatever your reason to sue a mega corporation, great, I’m on your side, Hershey has a long history of evils. But to choose this one.. Perfection…)
In a class action complaint (you can read the whole thing here), we are treated to examples of how the treats in question did not look as advertised, a scenario that I can only assume led to misery, disappointment, ego death, perhaps. For what is the purpose of the American consumer if not to be constantly in pursuit of consumption that most readily lines up with the image promised to us? The garbage we are spoon-fed, advertised, algorithm-ed into desiring must at the very least look like the garbage promised, or else how can it change us, fix us, heal us, complete us? To do this we must be given eyes and mouths on our chocolate treats if they are so promised. Let’s take a look:
The Medal:
SUE THEM!! That is NOT a medal that is a bottom heavy sour patch kid who has been drowned in chocolate. Sue them!
The Pumpkin:
YOU CALL THIS A PUMPKIN? NO MOUTH OR EYES!!! MORE LIKE A POOP! BANGS GAVEL SUE THEM!!
The Ghost:
NOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!
The Football:
LOOKS LIKE EGGS!!!!
It does remind one (me, my brain, help) a little of the people who sued Universal because a movie trailer had Ana de Armas in it while Ana de Armas was NOT in the final cut of the movie. Apparently these types of lawsuits are surging so it feels imperative we all go find a snack food or film that is not as advertised and sue the corporation who has promised us better. We all fight the system in different ways…
The lawsuit also very helpfully sources reviews from people who were OUTRAGED about this failure:
Now that’s what I call false advertisement! Much to think about here, including the world of snack food reviews on YouTube. Ack! Speaking of misleading advertising, what size do you think my dog is today? Sending love and strength to all of you, xoxo
