#BlackDisabledLivesMatter "Where to donate to help Black people with disabilities" Found this post from @usacfac (the UCLA Undergraduate Student Association Council Facilities Commission) which led me to @ErikaHarwood's Nylon article (linked below) and then to @BlackDisabilityCollective's instagram..Even if you can't donate right now, you can follow these accounts and share this info on all the social media sites!.Nylon article: https://www.nylon.com/life/black-people-with-disabilities-donations-resources.Google spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bZgMJ_M-u7_LKKI24hJSbgcg5obKFD7ePMHuQLczhOs/edit?usp=sharing June 26, 2020
This is a list of 175+ incredible Black herbalists, healers, doulas, and energy workers, and Black-owned apothecaries, herb schools, CBD brands, natural body care brands, + healing funds. This list is NOT exhaustive - there are MANY many more.
Since the last list I compiled of 50 Black herbalists it has grown and grown, + in that spirit, it is now also a living, open-source doc on bit.ly/Blackhealers, also link in bio. feel free to use it + add to it!
+ Remember~ “Western herbalism” and Western medicine come from Black / indigineous traditions of healing. White biz owners of apothecaries and herb shops, stock Black herbalists + makers! If you love CBD products, support Black owned CBD + hemp brands! White students of herbalism, do your research on herb schools to find out how they support BIPOC healers & teachers, how they honor the traditional knowledge being shared, how they’re committed to racial justice and unsettling herbalism. Follow Black healers with the intention to learn and support, + pay them! Check out the list of Black healing funds to contribute to. Support Black healing and healers; invest in Black healing and healers.
*Also I haven’t seen this resource in my corner of the internet, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t already exist. If you know of something similar that’s already out there, esp if made by a Black person, feel free to send my way so I can share what I’ve collected. 🤍
