Such an insight into Amanda Palmer. I've had a hard time reconciling what she preaches from her TED talk with the rest of her behavior - she of all people should know that artists can't eat or support themselves on exposure, yet that's what seems to be her strongest offer for those who work with her. It's that sort of hypocrisy I hate from people who act like they're taking a chance when they've actually got pretty substantial backup support behind them (like money from previous record deals) - not to mention a following that they've already built up from their previous stuff - they're never starting from zero, is my point, but they pretend like their methods will work for people who are, and that's just not the kind of deluded optimism artists need to hear when they're looking for real answers on how to get their work appreciated and paid. That's what irritates the snot out of me about her.

I appreciate her not caring what anyone thinks about how outspoken she is, but that's about it. This article is a great reason to jump down that rabbit hole again!
